Hopefully, the decision will be temporary. There is hope that he'll awaken once he's been in The Cult for enough time to experience its weirdness. More than likely his NFL earnings are dispensed as an Annuity which should afford him a very comfortable lifestyle for many years to come.

When the Epiphany occurs while in the depths of deep gloom and darkness it can be frightening. Monica will be temporarily confused, as we all were, but as she continues her search for Real Truth she will be rewarded and she will be given comfort and comprehension. What a truly remarkable woman.

...and so the shunning begins
by Phoebe ini am now officially 'inactive' so am no longer chased by an elder a for a report.
the congregation i belonged to never had much time for me anyway, i said once i could drop down dead in the k.hall and no one would notice.
so i never expected anyone to be particularly bothered that i wasn't there and they aren't.

I find it quite upsetting that both of them have turned against me. I wish I had walked away from this awful organization decades go
Reply from LisaRose:
Some people make better cult members than others, please don't take it personally, it's not a measure of their feelings for you, but of their fear, fear of displeasing God or fear of what others will say, or the elders.
Chances are they, in their hearts, are as torn up about this as you are but are prevented from acting lovingly because of their intense fears. They know not what they do. When it was your turn during the prior circumstance you responded lovingly to their distress because you are stronger than they.
Though it is painful, I know that you understand fully and do not hold it against them. In time they may yet see the error of their conditioned reflex and gain the strength you had. I'm sure they haven't forgotten.
Congratulations by the way on your determined efforts to break free! The path to freedom is not an easy one but you'll have help all along the way. Whatever feelings you may have of resentment or anger or disappointment will dissipate as you grow strong in your True Faith. Pity those who are stuck in The Cult and have seemingly lost their minds... Until they awaken they are slaves to the Undue Influence.

Was It Really Mental Illness or Was It The Demons?
by minimus inwe supposedly had more than a few “demonized” people in our congregation.
they would hear voices or feel internal punishment within their souls.
the answer was always—-these people were affected by the demons and they needed counseling!.

Apparently the GB has gotten their "education" regarding Demons from way too many viewings of Ghostbusters I, II and III. Demons do not attach to non-living objects; Demons enter into living beings generally by invitation.
I've always wondered why the witnesses are reluctant to "lay on hands" and prayerfully request that Demons be relocated. Perhaps because WTBorg Cult Inc. finds that Demons are very useful to their Mind Control techniques. It seems The Cult has a large bag of tricks that are used to generate fearful obedience to their twisted non-biblical dogma.

The Caterpillargeddon!
by TerryWalstrom inthe caterpillargeddon.
an eyeball rolled under the tool cart and stared fixedly into sightless shadows.
an impossibly large, bug-like creature lay on its back as the final death twitch of primitive nerve endings faded.. .

Now that is a great short story!! I've always been a fan of SciFi and Hitchcock mysteries. You've got real talent! The Trance-Formation is well described.

Putting your thoughts down in written form is a great start on your path to recovery. Discovering that you are not alone in your experiences and emotions will provide assurance that there is indeed hope that you'll heal from the cult induced trauma that you've experienced. Welcome!

Jehovah is Satan
by VW.org ini found a very convincing youtube video showing that jehovah of the old testament is satan and the god of the new testament is god the father.. https://youtu.be/-eyp4n0xkxk.

That is probably so. Forced exiles are generally uncomfortable propositions.
But while in Babylon many did prosper. And adapt. And learn.
The Babylonian Experience left an indelible "mark."

Quote fromRaven:
Now that I think back, I did know that she had been trying to live a healthier lifestyle.. Gym, workout, eat healthy, and she was starting to look great physically, what if she met someone at the gym? Job? Something? As you all know, the few basis of divorce in the cult would be adultery, or abuse..
A similar scenario with the congregation I was associated with some years ago. A very prominent "Sister" in the congregation who was employed with county legal services, very intelligent and quite attractive but not at her physical peak. Over a period of months she lost weight, regained her figure and became very attractive. Then suddenly, one evening at the meeting it was announced that she was disfellowshipped. Her husband, an MS, was quite distraught. I was with the elder who was consoling him that evening and discovered that she had left her husband to pursue a relationship with another man. While I had seen other cases prior of young "sisters" being DFd for promiscuity I had not seen a case like this. Maybe it isn't such a rare thing...

Blood Transfusion & Loss of Salvation?
by Counter-Watchtower inin my reading on this site ive read ppl in org were afraid of losing salvation if they had a blood transfusion.
like its the unpardonable sin or something (of course it is not, the bible never says not to have a blood transfusion).
ive read all i could find on jw.org but nothing about what would happen if you had one.

Might it be the fear of being DF'd as an Apostate? All Jws know that an Apostate will be zapped into oblivion never to be seen again. Forever.
What does The Word tell us about "salvation?" Is it possible to "lose it?"
